Edward Raso is a retired Major from the New York State Police with 32 years law enforcement experience. He served in uniform patrol, criminal investigations (as both an Investigator and Lieutenant), and as a Captain supervising uniform patrol operations. The last 7 years of his career he served as a Major/Troop Commander, commanding all State Police operations in Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster and Greene Counties (a command of approximately 500 law enforcement personnel). He has served at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attack, and in and around New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Major Raso has supervised numerous Presidential and Dignitary Security Motorcade Details. During his career Major Raso received over 30 commendations for actions undertaken in the line of duty. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and The U.S. Secret Service Dignitary Protection School. Major Raso is a certified NRA Firearms Instructor, a certified NRA Range Safety Officer, a New York State Police Distinguished Pistol Expert, a certified Police Defensive Tactics Instructor, a certified Instructor in Civilian Response To Active Shooter Events, a certified Threat Assessment and Management Consultant, a certified Surefire Institute Low-Light Tactics Operator Trainer (CQB), and a certified and Krav Maga Worldwide Force Training and Civilian Instructor. Major Raso has taught/trained with Israeli Security Specialists Shahar Or (3SixZero Academy Inc., Israel) and Gabi Noah (International Krav Maga). He is also a certified NYS Emergency Medical Technician, a member of the New York Tactical Officers Association (NYTOA), and he has served on the NYS Executive Committee on Counter Terrorism.
